Helping people find their place in cybersecurity.
HackCFL helps people discover their path in cybersecurity by exploring many lanes of the field, not just one.
We do this through member-led presentations, conversations, and shared learning. People of all levels can find their lane while building lasting relationships with others in the community. After members find their lane, many stay with HackCFL because they enjoy helping others find their own path.
Find Your Path
Cybersecurity has many lanes. Some local and professional groups focus on specific parts of the field. For example, ISACA focuses on governance, risk, compliance, audit, and assurance. ISC2 focuses on certification, professional development, and continuing education. ISSA focuses on connecting security practitioners across career stages. DC407 focuses on hacker culture, technical curiosity, and hands-on exploration.
HackCFL is different because our direction comes from what our members are passionate enough to share. That means our presentations and conversations can touch any part of security.
Build Real Relationships
Networking at HackCFL is not about collecting contacts. It starts by showing up consistently — learning with others, volunteering, asking thoughtful questions, helping where you can, and contributing in ways people remember.
If you are looking for an opportunity, HackCFL is still a good place to start. The goal is to build real relationships by showing up, learning with others, and contributing where you can, so people can get to know who you are, how you think, and how you help. Over time, that trust gives others a reason to advocate for you when the right opportunity appears.
How to be part of HackCFL
HackCFL membership is built through presence and contribution. HackCFL members should be recognizable by how they show up, help others, and carry the community with them — no matter where they are.
- Show up when you can.
- Share what you know.
- Ask questions.
- Help someone else learn.
- Volunteer where you can.
- Leave the community stronger.
Where We Meet
HackCFL currently meets at MetaHumans in Altamonte Springs. We are grateful for their support and for providing a stable place for our talks, learning, and community conversations.
